In terms of discography, the band collaborates with one of the biggest names in the rock/metal world, Nuclear Blast Records (Germany-based), and their latest album “Modern Primitive” received a very positive response.
The band enjoys international musical recognition, as evidenced by the fact that in 2021, scores from four of their compositions were selected by the renowned Berklee College of Music and have since been included in their music library for study by students.
Their live shows are a unique aesthetic spectacle. SEPTICFLESH’s vision is to deliver a musically and visually flawless performance, with a focus on theatricality, always incorporating elements from Greek culture in both lyrics and imagery.

The 8th Classic Rock will present a crossover project at Herodes Atticus Theater, where the rock and metal sounds of SEPTICFLESH meet the symphonic sound of the Athens State Orchestra for the first time in Greece.
The Piraeus Vocal Ensemble LIBRO CORO will complete the unique spectacle.
This project was previously presented in Mexico in 2019 at the Metropolitan Theater of Mexico City, with the Mexico Symphony Orchestra, featuring 140 musicians and a 40-member choir. The sold-out concert was attended by over 3500 spectators.

The international career of SEPTICFLESH and the prestige of the Athens State Orchestra, combined with the unique location of Herodes Atticus Theater, will undoubtedly attract fans from other countries who will experience this exceptional performance.

Biography
SEPTICFLESH was formed in Greece in the early ’90s by Spyridon Antoniou (vocals/bass), Christos Antoniou (guitar), and Sotirios Vagena (guitar/clean vocals). From their first album “Mystic Places of Dawn,” they experimented with soundtrack-like elements through the nine-minute instrumental “Mythos.” A significant portion of their lyrics was based on the mythology of ancient cultures, with a focus on Greece. This was more evident in their next album titled “ESOPTRON,” which had a more philosophical direction. Greek cultural elements have been promoted throughout their musical journey, with songs like “Morpheus the Dreamlord,” “Narcissus,” “Tartarus,” “Prometheus,” and “Martyr” (which references the pioneering mathematician and philosopher Hypatia).

Musically, the band, apart from its metal foundation, always flirted with symphonic music, incorporating it more and more over time. In their early stages, they collaborated with Natalia Rasouli (daughter of the late lyricist Manolis Rasouli), adding operatic female vocals to their compositions. For the past seven consecutive releases, they have had a steady collaboration with the Filmharmonic Orchestra of Prague.

Notably, Christos Antoniou holds a Bachelor in Music Composition from the London College of Music and a Master’s in Composition and Orchestration. Among his professors was Adam Gorb, head of the composition department at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Spyridon Antoniou, in addition to composing music, graduated with honors from the Athens School of Fine Arts in the A’ Painting Department, where his professors included Dimitris Mytaras, Zacharias Arvanitis, and Angelos Antonopoulos. He later studied Photography under Professor Manolis Bampouzis.
